Reflections of the Ocean
In this half-day workshop the children will explore the depths of the oceans. We will look at the colours and patterns of the seas and focus on the beauty of life under our seas. The children will be learning a selection of watercolour skills and techniques. They will each create their own watercolour painting which will creatively portray the serenity of a scene from under the ocean. The children will also create a contrasting piece using the medium of collage. Through collage we will focus on intense colour, designs and shapes inspired by under oceans scenes.

This holiday Art at heart is offering the opportunity for children who would like to take part in both of our half-day workshops to stay with us over lunch and make a full day of it! The day will begin with Reflections of the Ocean. We will then break for lunch (please provide your child with their own packed lunch) and lunch time will be followed by Peace, Patterns and Paper.

Peace, Patterns and Paper.
In this workshop the children will be finding our own peaceful place by designing and creating their own dreamcatchers. We will use a variety of materials including coloured yarns, beads and feathers. The children will also be introduced to the ancient Eastern traditions of Mandalas. The Mandala symbolises wholeness, unity and harmony. We will create colourful hanging Mandalas that represent nature in the Earth and the universe beyond. Together we will create a little piece of calm and relaxation in this busy world!
